Training beyond the rec league

The Clubhouse 831 is a youth development and performance training facility at the American Tin Cannery in Pacific Grove, founded by former Major League player Sean Halton. PG PONY works with The Clubhouse for elite-level training that goes beyond what a recreational baseball and softball league can offer.

Softball

November

Pitchers & Catchers

Pitchers work on windmill mechanics, balance and command, while catchers develop stance, receiving, blocking and throwing to bases. Instruction is tailored by age and experience, so newer players build a strong foundation while older players refine their skills and add pitches.

Building on November's work, players focus on accuracy, pitch location, game situations and pitcher-catcher communication, with instruction adjusted by age and experience. November participation is encouraged but not required.

Spring Training

Open to all positions. A conditioning program focused on speed, agility, strength and arm care, scaled by age to prepare every player for the spring season.

Schedule

Tuesdays and Thursdays

Softball and baseball train on the same days, one after another.

Every group meets on both days. Sessions run three weeks each in November and December and skip the holiday weeks (none the weeks of Nov 23, Dec 21 and Dec 28). January runs all four weeks. Softball 10U, 12U and 14U train together, with instruction adjusted by age and experience.

Packages are $25 a class when you buy all of a month's classes at once, purchased through PG PONY registration. Drop-ins are $30 a class, paid directly at The Clubhouse the day of the session. Pricing is the same for baseball and softball.
